Obama open to not letting failing newspapers fail

If they are failing, aren’t they already “nonprofit?” They are failing because no one wants them. If I don’t want to pay for them directly why would I want to pay for them via the U.S. Government?

The president said he is “happy to look at” bills before Congress that would give struggling news organizations tax breaks if they were to restructure as nonprofit businesses.
